i have a love/hate relationship with jillian

well...i am currently on day 9 of my 30 day shred with jillian. she is not my friend in the morning. especially this morning. when my alarm went off at 5:45am. yes, you heard me. i was so tempted to stay in bed and do the dvd later in the day. i had actually ran through different scenarios in my head as to what time i could do it later and then how much time i could stay in bed before i REALLY had to get up. finally, i just said, screw it and pulled the covers off.

i decided to go to level 2 today since i was just about ready anyway. wooooowwwwwwwww! much more intense and my legs are so sore. i know this a good thing, but oh my goodness. it was tough.

i do feel stronger though. my posture has gotten better which means i can suck in my stomach for longer and work my abs throughout the day. i am so excited to see how different i look and feel at the very end.

in other news...i signed myself up for a 5k race. let me proclaim to all that i am definitely NOT a runner. i never have identified myself as one and honestly, i dont think i ever will. i do like the alone time i get when i run. it clears my mind and lets me think...away from the kids.

i only have 18 days until i run. sooooo... i better get to training, huh? well i am planning to run the whole distance today on the treadmill to see where i am at as far as time goes. then we'll see where i go from there. i am hoping to run the whole thing. no walking allowed!!! thats my goal. my other goal (kind of) is to make a certain time frame. i am too scared to post exactly what that time is until after today, so we'll see what i come up with. the race is to benefit orphans in Africa. go to this website and check it out.

also, this past weekend my baby brother went off to college. my parents drove him down to orange county and got him all settled. he is going to vanguard university in costa mesa. so far he is enjoying it. school doesnt really start until tomorrow, so he is just having fun and making lots of friends. he is a kinesiology major. that is right up his alley.

also, in case anyone was wondering...tomorrow is my birthday!!!!!!!! i will be 28!! i have already gotten some cards and gifts in the mail. i used some birthday cash from my parents and brother to get some kitchen stuff at kohls and bed, bath and beyond. also, jesse's present came in the mail yesterday. he got me a huge gift card to crate and barrel. yay!!!!!!!!!!! i am so excited to go and use it. thanks babe. love you tons. i am going to go to disneyland tomorrow to obtain my $72 gift card for my birthday. since i already have a season pass, i get a gift card in the same amount as what it would have cost to enter one park. i am planning to get some early christmas shopping done with the card before i pick up jj. please pray for me, i will have diego and ellie in tow. so hopefully everyone will be on their best behavior!!!!
