bridal shower #1

this past saturday, was my sister in law’s bridal shower. her sisters, her mom and i hosted the event. the decorations looked amazing! the girls did a great job. she had a very good turnout too.  she got almost all of what was on one of her registries.

i got lots of practice with my camera. i am definitely still learning, though. finding the right lighting and holding the camera still are my biggest issues. i was still able to get some really good shots.

i also dyed my hair last week. i did it myself. it actually turned out really good, but it is really dark. my hair typically fades a lot right after i dye it, so i figured to keep the shade i want, i need to start out darker. i actually got a lot of compliments at the party. i think it makes my eyes pop more. i am still getting used to it though. i dont think my hair has ever been this dark.

i had planned to do something really special with ellie’s hair for the party. i had never tried it before and was quite nervous. of course, i got too frustrated and quit half way through. i looked for another idea and it seemed easy enough. so here was the final product:

do you like it? i think it is my best work yet. she got a lot of compliments on her hair too.

on sunday, i think the kids’ sicknesses had finally caught up to me. i did not feel well until about monday afternoon. my sinus headache is gone and i only have a little cough. yay!!! now i hope that none of us will get sick for a very long time!

this is jj’s last week of school before his spring break. he gets 2 weeks off!!! he is counting down the days. he hates getting up in the morning. definitely NOT a morning person. we often butt heads in the morning about getting dressed on time and using the rest of his time wisely. he isnt the only one looking forward to spring break.

this weekend, veronica has another bridal shower where i will be practicing my photography skills a little more. there is also the first of many march bday parties that are in our family.

oh, and tomorrow is 10 on 10 day!  have a very terrific tuesday and i will meet you back here tomorrow. :)
