we have been staying up late and sleeping in (as much as possible). we have started to plan out our summer and all the trips and mini vacations/excursions we will take. i have made a dent in my summer reading list and it is HOT outside.
jj started a baseball camp on monday. it runs mon-thur for two weeks. it is sponsored by the local high school here. the varsity coach is heading it up along with some current players. the varsity team went to CIF finals this year. there are about 19 boys and 1 girl. 10 and under. they split them into two groups, minors and farm. i am hoping jj will learn a lot from the coach and the other boys. it actually turned out that he has 4 boys from his class in his group. tomorrow is a scrimmage. i will plan to take pictures to share with all of you. wish him luck.
ellie and i have been enjoying the alone time. she helped me clean the house yesterday and is helping me do laundry today. we ran some errands today too. tomorrow is library day. she LOVES when we go.
i finished another book and have one more from the library to finish before turning them back in.
this weekend, jesse's sisters and their families and our family are going camping.
yes, you heard me correctly. we are going camping. i know for those of you who know my husband, thought this day would never come, but he agreed. he will say that he was pressured and threatened by his older sister to go, but i think deep down he really wanted to go
...or maybe not
and when i say camping, i mean REAL camping. like in a tent camping, not in a rv trailer. no hookups. granted we are only going for one day and one night. it will be less than 24 hours that we will be there, but it will probably feel like 100. the kids are SUPER excited and cant wait to go set up the tent, cook hotdogs, make smores and put on a talent show (their idea). sleeping arrangements might be a bit tricky, but we will survive. worst case scenario, jesse cant sleep and he comes home on father's day and sleeps most of the day. you wont want to miss my post on that little adventure. in fact, maybe i will do one post and i will make my hubby do one from his perspective. that would be pretty funny.
dont you think, babe!?
in closing, tomorrow is a very, VERY important day in our household. our happiness for the rest of the summer is resting on tomorrow's big event. so please, please, pretty please, lakers, you need to win. you MUST win. YOU HAVE TO WIN!!!! you have the home court advantage and phil jackson is 47-0 in playoff series, when his team wins game 1; and what do we know, lakers won game 1. lakers, we will be watching and praying! we both know that tomorrow, the celtics will be back with a vengeance, after their pitiful loss yesterday. you guys better bring your A game.
the end
p.s. here are some pictures from our recent trip to disneyland. we went, we saw, we conquered. the new water/light show was VERY crowded and we didnt have good seats, so we left early and watched the fireworks instead. oh, and we saw a celebrity!!! halle berry was there with her baby girl and her ex-beau. they make a gorgeous family.
