disney on ice

the wednesday before christmas, jesse, my mom and I took the kids to see disney on ice in anaheim. we purposely didn’t tell them what we were going to do. they knew they were getting their christmas present that day but we wanted to keep it an adventure.

we ate dinner at chilis near the honda center and they finally figured it out.

of course, as soon as we walked in the doors, they wanted to buy every disney toy, clothes, food and drink known to man. those vendors know what they are doing. show the kids the coolest stuff and they are bound to whine and complain to their parents until they get what they want. my kids were no exception. in fact, ellie and jj both declared, “I wont take any more pictures unless you buy me something.” ummm, ok. they didn’t get anything and they still took more pictures.

the show was awesome. both kids loved it, but I think it was geared more to ellie. jj seemed to have the “I’m too cool for school” look on his face. during the show, two performers fell during their jumps. ellie couldn’t understand how they could see where they were going when they skated backwards. she thought they were going “to crash into the people”.

the kids were really happy, but I think they would’ve enjoyed opening an actual present rather than a trip somewhere. this was proven on christmas eve, when they didn’t have as much to open as the other kids.
