i found this project in a magazine and i just finished it. it is so cute and the kids really love it. you need spice drops, licorice (cut up), floss, and a large needle. first thread the floss through the needle and tie a knot in one end. start pulling the candies on the floss in any pattern.
after doing this project, i have some great advice. open the candy and cut up the licorice and let it sit on the counter for awhile. once it hardens, it will thread easier. i did not do this and i had a huge sticky mess. the kids can pick out the color sequence while you put them on through the needle. i let jj push the candy all the way to the end of the floss. after awhile he gave up because it was too sticky. some other ideas are using gummy lifesavers to thread. in the magazine, they used the neon colored licorice and different colored drops to make it more colorful. once the garland dries a little, they cant wait to put it on the tree. i thought this was really neat and wanted to pass it on. enjoy
