i finally feel much better after being sick. the only bad thing is now ellie and jesse are sick. she has a runny nose and is all stuffed up. you would think it would stop her, but no. she is as crazy as normal, except a little more whiny. jesse feels a little off, but nothing too bad. this is my first week back after having last week off for sickness. i never realized how much people depend on you, when you are the caregiver. parents can take sick days from work, but when the babysitter is sick, the parents are forced to take sick days and stay home with a perfectly heathly child. i felt really bad, but my mother in law was able to help out a couple of days.
friday night, we went to my brother's basketball game. they lost to their crosstown rival, which stinks even more. saturday we just stayed home and hung out in our jammies. trying to get back to normal. sunday, we had intentions of going to church in the morning, but we all slept in and didnt make it in time. instead jesse promised the kids he would take them to the store and get a toy. when we got in the car, he gave them the option of target or toys r us. "surprisingly", they chose toys r us. ellie was easy. she got a "seeping booty" (sleeping beauty) blanket and little girl sleeping beauty. she had a cinderella blanket that she sleeps with at night, and she really loves sleeping beauty and i had promised her a new blanket to sleep with. now at night she gets excited that she gets to sleep with both. jj chose a stuffed green snake named "slither" and a pack of hot wheel cars. he is very funny about his cars. occasionally he actually takes them out and plays with them. because these are new, he has been playing with them non stop. when he goes to school, he hides them so his cousin diego doesnt find them. like they would be ruined if he were to play with them. he is so funny.
after the toys store we had lunch at red robin. that place, along with chilis, has the best kids menu around. they have so many options. i love eating there. my favorite is the strawberry lemonade. none of us finished our meals. we had a ton of leftovers. we had gone to two stores after looking for a blow up, punch doll. i think thats what you call it. jj needs to practice karate, and we wanted to find one of those punch things that never falls down. you punch it and it comes right back to you. no one had it. we checked sports chalet and a kids discovery store that was said to have it, but didnt. if anyone has any ideas let us know.
