girls day and boys day

yesterday (sunday), i took ellie to temecula to meet a friend of mine and jesse had a dad/son day with jj. we'll start with the girls' day. we were visiting my friend brittany who is getting married in june. she was having a bridesmaid/girls day to visit the winery where she is getting married. because of a lot of last minute cancellations, it ended up only being her, me and ellie. it was really nice. the winery and vineyard are BEEEAUUUUTIFUL! right now a lot of the plants are bare, but come last spring and early summer, they will be blooming with flowers. they were having a bridal show and she was able to show me the reception room, courtyard, and gazebo where they are having the ceremony. words cant even describe what i saw. it is soooo gorgeous. its like its out of a movie. like your are in italy staring out at all the acres of vineyards on the rolling hills. we had lunch after and then the girls came home. ellie loved skipping around the grounds and wouldnt leave "tutu brittany" alone. we had an awesome time. thanks for meeting with us brit.

now the boys day was much different. jesse and jj went to church in the morning and then to breakfast after with albert, amy, sienna and diego. then they all went to the swap meet, where it was freezing so they had to buy jj a beanie to keep warm. jj had earned $5 from gaga donna for being good at school, so he bought some pokemon cards and a barbie rapunzel dvd for ellie. what a sweet boy for thinking of his sister. jesse was supposed to take him to the park to play baseball, but jesse discovered he had written on the bathroom door with a highlighter, so the park didnt happen. they did practice ground balls in the front yard and then they watched a movie together. what a fun day for both the girls and boys!
side note: today after i pick jj up from school, he starts to tell me that he knows what evaporation, condensation, and precipitation are. he tells me exactly what each one is and that they are called the water cycle. he even sings a little song to help explain. when i look at him telling me all this, i realize he is growing up, but all i see is a little boy. it reminded me of the part on "father of the bride" where steve martin's character looks at his daughter when she is telling him she is getting married and all he sees is a little girl in pig tails. time flies sooooooo fast.
