over the hill

it has been awhile since my last post and i probably have about 3 posts to do to catch up. i dont like when i get behind because i cant remember all the little details and stories that i wanted to write. i will try and do my best. 

after i left off on the last post, it was the start of the week. wednesday of that week (april 22) was jesse's bday. he turned 30!!!! can you believe it. neither could he. i could tell he was a little disappointed in turning 30 but he will be ok. that day his current school and his old school were planning him a surprise party at red lobster. i drove up after i picked jj up from school. i met him at work and told him i wanted to take him to dinner for his birthday. i left the kids at my mom's. we drove to red lobster and he saw one of his former students in the parking lot and it got him suspicioius and then  he saw different people's cars in the parking lot. he knew something was up when he walked in but he was still really surprised by how many people were there. i was too. he had about 50 people there, all current staff, former staff, and friends. they really got him good. he was completely embarrassed! they had "over the hill" decor and balloons all over the restaurant. it was really nice to see how many people cared about him. he had a great time. thank you for everyone who was involved. when it was time to go home, i took all the balloons home with me so the kids can play with them. they filled the entire van!!! i couldnt see the kids sitting in their seats because the balloons filled all the empty space. they fell asleep in the car, of course, and i had to unload all the balloons first before i took them to their beds. i wouldnt be able to fit if i didnt.
