this was jj's first year of playing tball. he loved it and he also learned a lot. when i think back to the first practice. i remember jj being able to throw, but catching was a foreign concept. he would hold his glove out in front of him, while turning the rest of his body backwards as to not get hit by the ball. now, he still cant catch, but he is much more brave and tries to stay in front of the ball.
he loved playing catcher and first base. he would stay in front of ground balls to knock them down or sometimes, even stop them!! i think, overall, he learned the basics of baseball. how the game is played. how he needs to get the lead runner out first and knowing that you can tag the runner out. i think the hardest concept for the team was knowing that they are all on the same team. when a ball would go past the infield, the entire team would go after the ball and then dogpile on top of each other to get it.
they all looked adorable in their cute uniforms, though. jj did really well hitting. he would always say that he wanted to "hit it hard". when he would play ball in the backyard with jesse, he wouldnt even use a tee. he has gotten really good at hitting. catching is something we might have to work on for next year. :) here are some pictures of the season.
the entire team, minus one player.
