some funny things that were said this weekend:

jj- we often watch animal planet as a family, and we were watching natures most amazing events. in it they show a wildebeast being born. jj informs us that "wildebeast poop out their babies from their butts." he even says, "look, it still has poop on it."

ellie-she informs me this morning that "the trash can was hungry, so we (jj and ellie) gave it toothpaste. jj's sink was hungry, too"

this past saturday was home depot's kids workshop. they hold it on the first saturday of every month, and the kids get to build something cool. since father's day is in june, they had the option of a tool box or a compartment caddy for nails, bolts, etc. both ellie and jj picked the tool box.

i should clarify, i actually do most of the building, they help. these workshops are perfect for 7 or 8 yr olds and up. jj has actually learned to hammer in a nail by himself. he just needs a little extra strength to finish the job. ellie has gotten the concept of where the nails go, but she holds the hammer while i do it all.

i asked jj to help ellie hammer in her nails...

he apparently didnt move his finger in time. ellie's face seems to say, "yeah, i did it, so what??!!"

the kids with their finished projects. i reminded them these were for father's day. when we left, jj proclaimed, "i'm not giving my tool box to anybody."
