wedding, fathers day, and water fun

here is a little catch up of what has been happening in our family.

about 2 weeks ago, our really good friends wes and brittany got married. both jesse and i were in the wedding. we had a fabulous time. the wedding was at south coast winery in temecula. the grounds of the resort were beautiful. vineyards EVERYWHERE!!! gaga donna and pop pop watched jj and ellie for a couple of days while we had a little getaway. it was wonderful to see old friends and catch up.

the happy couple honeymooned in hawaii and arent even back yet!!!! they are such great friends and we couldnt be happier for them. a picture of jesse and i at the wedding is on the right column under "dada and mama". for those of you who have facebook accounts, i posted all the photos i took from the wedding on there. here is one of the beautiful mr. and mrs. mayer.

since sunday was father's day, i wanted to do something so fun for jesse's gift. i had conspired with rebecca street (the streets are who we are going with on our cruise in july) to plan something exciting for the boys. we ended up getting them 4 dodger tickets. it will be a father/son game. logan will take jack and jesse will take jj. this will be jj's first dodger game.

now that he understands baseball, he is really excited about going. hopefully he will make it the entire game. because of the dodger inspired father's day, i baked a dodger cake for jesse. i think it turned out great. i am finding that i am getting better at the entire process of cake baking. if anyone wants me to make a certain cake for a party. i would be more than happy to do it for them. just let me know.

jj and ellie are extremely blessed to have jesse as their father. i am blessed to have him as a husband. he does so much for our family. i know that i dont tell him too often, but i love you honey and we all thank you so much for working soooooo hard to give our family a wonderful life. happy fathers day!!!

today, i had sienna and diego over and so after we got home from jj and ellie's swim lessons, i filled the little pool and decided to have a water filled afternoon. while the pool was filling, i made lunch and let the kids play in the backyard. we had a lunch outside picnic style and then we cooled off in the pool.

the sun hadnt warmed the water too much so it was freezing!! in kid terms that doesnt mean much. in two minutes they were sitting and splashing and having a great time. we had some leftover father's day cake for dessert and then nap time. yay!!! i am typing this towards the end of nap time now, so it was a beautiful sunny day and we definitely made the most of it.

SIDE NOTE: over the weekend, i made whole wheat banana pancakes from scratch. they were really yummy and definitely hearty. i think the banana sweetened it up a little and made it much more tolerable. the kids didnt even notice. i made them alien pancakes with whipped cream, like at dennys. the gobbled them up very quickly. i am getting closer and closer to making my final decision on officially making the switch to whole wheat flour. sorry i dont have a picture, i didnt remember until after i ate. it would have made for a good picture though.

Holy Crap Wes got married?? That girl deserves a medal. Just kidding, that's AWESOME. Please tell him congratulations for me. He looks very happy.

Howdy Yucaipa fam. You guys are too dang cute. I miss you guys. It was so awesome to see Jess in Seattle. I am VERY grateful for that and am sorry to not have gushed to you about that yet, but I am generally late with important stuff. SOMEDAY, I'll bring my wifey by to meet you all in person. Hopefully this year but we'll see how it goes. You guys are ALWAYS welcome in Victoria (pretty cool city) but regardless we want to come down there too.

I started a blog, mostly about writing to network with other writers or whatever, but there are some pics of my wife and son (that is dog Linus).

JJ and Ellie are incredible. They look so much like each of you to me. Still remember that day when I first met JJ. What a guy. Can't wait to meet Ellie, hopefully that's before she goes to college.

I miss you guys. I'll try to keep in touch better but please know I love you guys no matter what.

Here's my blog: http://benjaminjameswatson.blogspot.com/

But I warn you a lot of it is boring stuff about writing and me going on and on...

Great summer photos! I've been contemplating a temporary summer mohawk for our son, but haven't managed to talk his dad into agreeing yet! :)
