i have always been interested in baking with whole wheat flour, but not really sure how the taste would turn out. i decided to do a test run on chocolate chip cookies. i took the recipe from the back of the bag and substituted whole wheat flour for all purpose flour. of course, by doing this doesnt automatically make it healthy. i still had to add the butter, choc. chips, and mounds of sugar, but i figure that any healthy addition i can do, is worth it. i am really considering on making the switch for ALL my holiday baking.
they didnt turn out too bad. they were a little darker than the original version, which makes it a little tougher to determine when they are done. they did have a different taste, but nothing too extreme. it was a little more nutty. i hate nuts, and i was still able to eat them. in fact, a little too many. :)
i think i will try to make pancakes with it as well. i will keep everyone posted on how they turn out.
