cozy

last night i went to check on ellie in her bed like i do every night. i dont have to check on jj because he has always been a good sleeper. he keeps himself warm and doesnt put up a fight to go to sleep.

ellie on the other hand fights to be put down EVERY night. as i tuck her into bed, i tell her that i am not coming back upstairs after i leave. she cries and sometimes screams, but eventually she will fall asleep. she does like to sleep in odd places. i often find her in her brother's bed, under the dining room table, on the floor in her room, and the place where i found her last night, the closet.

that was the first time she has fallen asleep there, even though she plays in there a lot.

back to checking on ellie last night...i walk into her room and see her light is on, her pillow is gone and she isnt in her bed. i do check all the normal hiding spots, no ellie. then i see her closet doors bulging out. i look in and find her sound asleep on her pillow. which is, by the way, leaned against her laundry basket. her princess shoes are strewn all over. so of course i had to take a picture.

i place her back in bed and she falls back asleep without a peep.

this morning i ask her why she was sleeping in her closet. she says, "i dont like to sleep in my bed. it is not cozy."

really. not cozy, huh.

i guess things could be a lot worse.
