yay!!! summer is over!!!!

okie dokie, it is top ten thursday again. todays topic is why you are glad that summer is over. at first you might think "i like summer...i dont want it to end", but if you really think about it, i'm sure you could come up with a top ten. check out TTT's host site for her top ten. here is mine. enjoy...

TOP TEN REASONS WHY I AM HAPPY SUMMER IS OVER

1. back to school: even though this is jj's first year in all day school, i was so looking forward to it. the days go by so much faster. even though i dont get to sleep in anymore, i am much more calm and relaxed during the day. i dont have another child to look after.

2. autumn: i love fall and all its color. even though, here in southern california, our fall only lasts about 2-3 weeks, i still love it. going to pick out apples at riley's apple farm. the crispness in the air. finally being able to open our windows and let the house air out. ahhhhh, cant wait.

3. halloween: i LOVE halloween. it is one of my fav. holidays. i love all the costumes and buying candy. candy corn and pumpkin patches. the decor and scary houses that you dont want to go to. love it all. i even love shopping through the clearance items once halloween is over. i am always able to buy the kids' costumes for the next year at a huge discount.

4. wrapping up the fantasy baseball league: i dont know if this is mine or jesse's. i love it because i feel like i get my husband back from constantly checking scores and seeing which players did what that day. jesse is excited because the season wraps up and playoffs start. oh and one tiny little thing, they are playing for money, so the drive to win is much greater. currently he is in second place.

5. football season: jesse loves the raiders, but as everyone knows they are not very good, so we just like watching all the different football teams. its exciting. also, jesse goes with his friend to the charger/raider game in san diego every year. OH and college football. USC baby!!!! our future brother in law used to play football for UCLA, so he has season tickets. we are hoping to go to the USC/UCLA game this year. we are keeping our fingers crossed.

6. FALL TV: i did this one is all caps because it is the most important one. we love tv in our house. our kids even ask to pause the tv while they take a bathroom break and jj knows how to work the tivo to record all his fav. shows. we do have some great summer shows (the closer, hard knocks) that we watch, but our fall tv schedule cannot come fast enough.

7. jj's birthday: i love that his birthday falls so close to halloween. i have always dreamed of one day having a birthday/halloween party. this year we decided to stick to just family, but maybe next year we will have a huge blowout.

8. baking and making soup: i love to cook and bake. probably baking more. cookies, pie, cake, muffins, bread, etc...i cant wait for the weather to get cooler to make soup. all kinds of soup. add a little of this and a little of that. no recipes, just whatever i feel like.

9. disneyland: my mom, me, jj and ellie all have season passes. the type of season passes we have blacks out all of summer. its finally a relief when we are able to go again. it is such a magical place to be, especially around the holidays. mickey here we come...

10. uggs: i am crazy about my uggs. even though it doesnt get too cold here in so cal, i love the way they feel. so soft and cozy on my toes. the imitations arent nearly as good. they do cost a pretty penny, but so worth it. here's a tip: buy a kids size. they are about $20-$30 cheaper. this only works if you have a size that can convert to a kids size (no bigger than a women's 8).

well there you have it another thursday top ten list for your enjoyment. till next week...

Uggs, yay! Good idea. Too bad I have big feet. I am 5'2" and have size 8 1/2. Nice, huh? Sheesh.
I would LOVE season passes to disney! We were there last December and it was so awesome. I wish I could be there every holiday.

Darn, I forgot to do my list yesterday. Next Week! I am usually glad when summer is over because I love fall. Can't wait for fall colors in the trees, uggs, volleyball, a bit cooler temps, Thanksgiving, etc. Love your list!
