how do i love thee?

well, it is in fact thursday, and it is top ten time! before i begin, i just want to say that GOD IS GOOD!!!! go here to check out stellan's story. it is truly amazing at what our Lord can do.

so...yesterday, as i was preparing for my top ten list, i asked my husband what my topic should be. he says, do ten reasons why you love me. i laughed, but when i looked at his face, he was serious. so, in honor of my darling husband...

TOP TEN REASONS WHY I LOVE MY HUSBAND

1. he works SO hard to provide for our family-his work requires some late nights of board meetings. going away for conferences. putting in some extra work time for his school. i know it kills him to be away from home for so many hours during the day, but we love him so much and are grateful for him.

2. he is funny-he makes me laugh all the time. he is goofy and has some funny comebacks just sitting on the tip of his tongue. laughter always cures!

3. he is family oriented- he is completely dedicated to his family, and that includes all his extended family. no matter if there are disagreements, he is 100% in love with his family.

4. he is generous-if someone is in trouble or needs an extra dime to get through some tough times, he is there. he doesnt even think twice about helping others. i absolutely love that quality about him.

5. he is supportive of me-he lets me do what i love and what makes me sane. he may not understand why i love the things that i do, but he supports me. my blogging, my cooking/baking, my new ideas about my possible "career", etc.

6. he is an awesome father-he is so good with the kids. he has sports that he does with jj. golf, baseball, and basketball. he is able to spoil ellie and dote on her. she knows she has her dada wrapped around her little finger. it truly makes my heart melt.

7. he is always trying to be better-whether it is at work or at home. he reads and does anything that might help him get better at certain areas of his life. in his career, he always is doing whatever it takes to get better and go to the next level. at home, he takes his jobs of husband, dad, and spiritual leader very seriously.

8. he pushes me to live outside my comfort zone-everyone knows that i am a planner and when things don't go as planned, i freak out. he gently forces me beyond the boundaries that i set for myself. i know that makes me a better person and more adaptable. thanks babe.

9. he makes me feel beautiful-i love the way he looks at me. he makes me feel like we are still newlyweds and i love that he calls me "gorgeous girl" and "beautiful". i always joke with him that i know when he is mad at me because he calls me by my first name, instead of "babe" or "honey".

10. he is ticklish-that might sound weird, but i love that this big, strong man is super ticklish. i know all his weak spots. when we play fight, i always have a "go to" spot to always win. i feel a little bit accomplished after i win a tickle fight.

he is also very handsome! which is a main reason why we have such beautiful children.

after writing all this, i am smiling. i love that when i think of him, i smile. everyone should take the time to write some things they love about their spouse. it will brighten their day and yours too! just the simple things in life.
