i know that it is top ten thursday, but i have lots of housekeeping and another post to do to be caught up.
to start, i dont know if any of you out there have the same problem as i do with blogger. it takes me 15-20 minutes to upload 5 pictures to a post. does that happen to you too?
the last couple of days i have been trying to upload pics and havent been able to. it always said error. so i dont know what was going on, but today i was able to load 2 pics fairly fast (3 min.).
some things that have been happening in our home:
today, as the kids were hunting for their advent gift, jj pulled open a drawer and it hit ellie in the chest. she, of course, screamed and yelled at her brother. she said, "JJ you hurt my chest and you broke my heart!" and then proceeded to cry "you broke my heart". all i could do was laugh because it sounded so funny.
speaking of injuries, i have a monster bruise on my knee. i was walking down the stairs the other day, holding ellie, and missed the last step. the heel of my boot got caught on the last step and before i knew it i was flying towards the ground. i have always feared that something like that would happen while holding a child. anyway, before i had time to think of what to do i was already on the ground. i subconsciously broke the fall with my knees and elbows, so i didnt fall and squish my darling daughter. once i stopped, i laid ellie down to ask if she was ok. i got a look of her face, and wanted to die laughing. poor thing. she had the "oh $#!@" look on her face. she was just hugging me and before she knew it, she was flying through the air in my arms and didnt know what was happening. so for the last couple of days, my right knee has been super sore and bruised. good times.
we finally got into contact with jj's basketball coach. they will be having practices on fridays and saturdays, 5-6 and 3-4 respectively. oh, i forgot to add, the practices will be OUTSIDE!!! outside, really?! so i guess for the next couple of months, i will be freezing my tail off watching my poor freezing son practice outside, in the dark, under the lights, in the cold night air. REALLY?!!!
every time i go out to a store to take care of presents, groceries, or other needed items, i leave feeling like ebenezer scrooge. to make matters worse, by the time i come home and get to breathe, i realize i have forgotten something. GRRRRR!!! i make lists, but for some reason, that one extra thing never seems to make it on the list. i am also expecting several items in the mail to get here soon. hopefully BEFORE Christmas!
WARNING: dont let young school aged kids read this next paragraph.
i was reviewing my son's list for santa this year and wanted to get him some things off of it so he would think santa got him exactly what he wanted. so i read that jj wants a specific pokemon card. so i search on ebay and find it. i bid on it and win. the seller just happened to be in the UK and the price was in pounds or euros (i dont know which for sure), but the exchange price was around $5 including shipping. ok. not too bad. it would totally be worth it when he sees that santa brought him the exact card that he asked for. right? well, two nights ago, jj walks up to me and says, "look what my friend from school traded me!" i look and what do i see? the same stinking card that i just spent days researching on the internet and am still waiting to receive in the mail. i say, "wow! that's cool." inside i was thinking, "of course!". then jj says to me, "i hope santa knows that i already got this card so he doesnt have to bring it for me." now, what do i do?
this past sunday, i went and saw mary poppins the musical with my mom. it was her birthday present. we also went out for dinner after too. we both had been looking forward to going. we got some starbucks before we drove out to LA. we chatted in the car, parked and made our way to the box office. because we have disneyland passes, we were able to get free mary poppins pins. added bonus! we looked at all the incredibly over priced items for sale in the lobby. they were beautiful and fun, though. we found our seats and waited patiently for the show to start. 3 hours later...we left super happy with fantastic songs running through our heads. my favorite was "step in time". although i do have to say that "supercalifrag..." was awesome too. i highly recommend seeing this before it leaves LA.
i had a great time mom! thanks for the great company. i hope you enjoyed your birthday present and i hope we can go see another one sometime soon. i love you muchos!
