10 on 10

i had heard of this idea from a friend of mine (rebecca street) and it sounded fun. this is actually supposed to be a scrapbooking project, but since i dont scrapbook, i though i would twist it a little and do it on my blog.

the idea is to take 10 pictures on the 10th day of every month for the whole year. it is supposed to be a little recap of your day in pictures. they dont have to be the most magnificent/fun pictures. it is just a little behind the scenes look at what happened to you and your family on the 10th of every month.

this month, it fell on a sunday. since we had a late night the night before, we all slept in and had a lazy day today. i ran a couple of errands without the kiddos (hallelujah!), cooked breakfast and dinner, did the dishes and the laundry. it was kind of a catch up day for our family. so, i know, these pictures arent the most exciting things to look at, but at least they are honest.

jj and ellie got these chipmunk toys (simon and jeanette) from mcdonalds yesterday. they have been playing with them all morning. did i mention they both talk. i think i might hide them!

i made little breakfast sandwiches this morning for breakfast. the kids werent too thrilled at first. they just wanted cereal, but eventually they came around and ate them.

the last couple of days have been really tough for jj. he has developed a horrible habit of biting his nails. he has bitten them down to nubs. last week four different fingers started to bleed. i called his doctor and she said to try this nail polish for a week to see if it helps, if not, she will prescribe something for him. i think it is actually working. (sorry if the picture is sideways, it would not load properly and i wasnt able to turn it after it loaded).

for lunch, i reheated some leftover spaghetti i had made on friday. surprisingly, jj and ellie both ate it all.

jj was able to spend some time on the computer. his favorite website is webkinz. he has 6 pets and he loves the games he can play on there. i had to pull him away from the computer.

i went to stater bros. and picked up some groceries. i always do my bulk shopping at the beginning of the month and just go back for milk, fruit and veggies. i didnt have a lot, just a couple of bags.

i took this picture of our dog, charlie, while she was playing outside. she is crazy about blankets. in fact, i usually dont let her have any at all, because she will tear them up into teeny pieces and leave them all over the place. this one was left over from when she had to stay outside when it was raining. she pulled it out of her doghouse, dragged it all around the yard and spun it around her body until she was completely tangled. crazy dog.

i made dinner tonight. it was a big success. i even made lemonade from scratch. our neighbor had given us some lemons for christmas, and i had to use them before they went bad. i prefer my lemonade a bit on the sour side.

ellie taking her bath and playing with ariel and flounder. she just bought ariel at target a couple weeks ago with some christmas money she got as a gift. she loves her. her tail and hair change colors in the water.

this is the kids wind down time with dada. they cuddle with him and talk about whatever comes to mind. tomorrow he officially goes back to work. he has had 2 1/2 weeks off. he went back for a couple of days last week, but tomorrow the kids come back. no more sleeping in!
