pumpkins, cornfields, and parties

this last month was very busy!!

we had a pumpkin patch visit, halloween party, and a birthday party.

our local pumpkin patch was super busy the entire time they were open. this year they added a new and improved cornfield maze. of course, the rides and games were highly overpriced, but the kids still had a good time. we got some great pictures and also got yelled at by the workers for sitting on an off limits pumpkin. the cornfield maze took us about 20-30 minutes to get through. they gave us cards and we were supposed to find 4 posts to hole punch our cards. when we turn in our finished cards, we get halloween beaded necklaces in return. I let the kids pick which path to go down until we were going in circles, and then we started asking other people we found wandering about. it was perfect weather, cloudy, but not too cold.

last week, ellie and diego had their library halloween party. the kids all dressed in their costumes and went on a parade around the library. they also were able to trick or treat at the reference desks.

jj had his own halloween party on friday. which also happened to be his birthday. he had a great time playing with all his friends. at one point they were jumping and wrestling on the trampoline. I heard jj cry and new he was hurt. I went to him and saw him with his hands around his nose and mouth. he said it was his nose that got hit and as I opened his hands, all I saw was a bloody, horror of a mess. blood was EVERYWHERE. it would have made a great costume, but it wasn’t fake. it was real. he got cleaned up and didn’t get in the trampoline again. they kids there played pass the pumpkin, freeze dance, and they bobbed for apples too.

I really cant believe that my little baby boy is already 7! his birthday was friday and his bday party was on saturday night at a local pizza place. he had asked for a dodger party, so my creative wheels started turning. I had got this cake idea from a friend. she saw this idea online and shared it with me. it looked so easy and fun that I had to try it. I think it turned out fantastic. what do you think?

jj had asked for money this year because he wanted to save it up to buy himself a nintendo ds. he got mostly money and he was able to buy himself the ds and 5 games. he is obsessed now with his new toy. the excitement on his face when he bought it was priceless. I am so glad you had a great birthday. we love you so much!
