baseball season is starting to wind down and we might actually have a free saturday coming up soon. jj's team has been doing really well lately and they start playoffs in 2 weeks. ellie's team only has 4 more games and she can't wait until it's over. she was over baseball since the beginning, but we wanted her to stick it out and now we know that she isn't a baseball playing type of girl...at least for now.
on the 21st, i am running in a 5K. i have been training for a couple months now and i feel amazing. i am so much stronger now than when i started. normally, when i go for runs, there is a spot in the middle of my run where i get exhausted and my body feels like quitting. now i can feel the power in my legs, and i just keep going. my goal for this 5K is to beat my time of my last race, a couple years ago, and to run the whole time. i am pretty confident that i can do it, but still nervous. jj is running in the kids' 1/2 mile race that same day. that boy loves to run and has so much energy, so we'll see how he does that day too.
jesse got a new job!! he is now the executive director of human resources for silver valley unified school district. his commute is a little further, but the payoff now is that he gets a company car and gas!! he doesn't start for another couple of weeks, and he is very excited and nervous at the same time.
the school year is finally winding down. these last couple of weeks are filled with performances and field trips. i can't believe there are only 10 full days and 3 minimum days left. this will be jj's last year attending this school. he and ellie both were accepted at our local charter school, inland leaders. we are very excited and lucky that they both were able to get in at the same time. i put their names in the lottery and ellie was accepted. she was spot 68 of 80 and there were over 200 applicants, just for kindergarten!! jj was put on the waiting list and was "sibling status", which bumps him higher on the list. their school board just voted to open another 3rd grade class for next year and so he got in too!!!
summer is coming and i am trying to find some things for the kids to do that is inexpensive and fun. i have a couple ideas already and we will need to fit swimming lessons in there somehow, but overall i think the break will be full of excitement and fun. these next couple of months will be filled with lots of change, but we are looking forward to it and to the adventure that lies ahead.
i did an amazing thing last month and i can't wait to share it!
