tomorrow is the big day!!
the 5K starts tomorrow morning and i am a little nervous. i know it isn't that far, but for me, it is. i definitely had to train and work to get up my endurance. normally running for over 5 minutes required me to stop, but now, my legs are much stronger and my breathing is better and i am ready!!
i think my anxiety is more about me reaching the goals that i set for myself and failing. you know i am a perfectionist and it would bum me out to not do as well as i would like. i just have to keep telling myself that it is for fun and you have come so far already and anytime you come in at is good!!!
i am setting an example of health and fitness for my kids and letting them know it can be fun. in fact, they went on a walk/jog with me last week and actually lasted the whole time!
tonight is a luau/festival at jj and ellie's new school. ellie is very excited. she has had her outfit set out for days waiting for this moment. jj on the other hand is going, but isn't allowed to participate, since he is in trouble and on restriction. i tell ya, this boy!!
yesterday, jj had his spring sing at his school and all the second graders sang, "toy story/cowboy" songs. "we belong together", "woody's roundup", and "happy trails". of course our son is too cool for school and barely made any of the movements. you could barely make out if his mouth was moving either. summer fever has definitely set in for him and he only has 5 full days and 3 minimum days left. please pray for my sanity this summer!
i think the kids and i and my parents are going on a road trip this summer for a couple of days. we want to make our way up to the sequoia national forest and see the huge trees. i have never been and i know the kids would love it. they even have a cave to explore there and other fun trails and things to do. the break in the heat will also be nice too when june and july come.
have any of you readers been to sequoia before? if so, i would love some advice and tips on what fun things to do while we are there! here's to a busy weekend!! wish me luck.

I went to Sequoia as a kid on a couple different trips and it was so fun! There is one tree that is so huge you can drive through it. I remember thinking that was just amazing. You will have a great time!
YOu are so going to have already rocked the 5k! I know it is nervewracking (especially for us perfectionists!) but you are awesome, trained and will do great!
