ballet class

when we are at home, ellie dances non stop. so i thought when she is 2 1/2 i will put her in a ballet class. i never took any type of dance class growing up so i had no idea what clothing she needed. i went to a local dancewear store. i bought her a pair of pink ballet shoes. they said most instructors require a certain color leotard so i was going to wait on that. we left there, with ellie holding her bag so tight. we came home and had to try them on. she is too much.

today was the first day of ballet class at the community center. since i didnt have a leotard, i put her in a pink onesie shirt with tights and her shoes. she also HAD to wear her tutu. we were very careful not to walk in her shoes outside, so they wont get ruined. we opened the dance room door and it was like she was in heaven. she immediately started running around and copying the other little girls in her class. then when class started she caught on right away. she stretched just like them and held onto the bar, and did everything the teacher asked. the only problem was when she would get distracted, she would turn the opposite way and do whatever the other girls were doing or just stare at herself in the mirror. so you could say her attention span is not the longest. overall, she had a great time. i know she felt like a ballerina and couldnt stop talking about ballet or as ellie says it, "ba-yeah".
