kids say the darndest things
i had to write this down quickly before i forgot it. we are driving back from toys r us today. we were getting ideas for my baby boy's 5th birthday. he would go down every aisle and say, "i want this" or "this is cool". next aisle, "oh, this is what i want". we left with him wanting everything thats all boy. pokemon, digimon, ben 10, spiderman, superman, justice league, batman, ironman, bikes.... anyway, we were walking out of the store where they had free crafts for the kids. we took some to do at home. me being the neat freak and perfectionist that i am, would've probably had a melt down from the mess. plus there were too many people there. on the way out of the store, jj starts to whine and tell me no because he doesnt want to do the crafts at home. in between his rage, he says to me "i do not like you anymore!" i grab his hand and quickly walk him to the car where i spank him. i say "you do NOT talk back to me and you do NOT say mean things either". he apologizes right away but he knows he is in trouble. we start to drive away and ellie, who has been witnessing this whole event, says to me with her finger waving in the air, "mama, you dont pa-pow my brother". i look at her and warn her, "do you want a spanking too? then dont talk back to me". for the next 5 min. or so, she is saying under her breath, "you dont pa-pow my brother" "be nice a my brother" "mama, you love a my brother" "be patient a my brother" "no timeouts or pa-pows a my brother". and brother was actually pronounced "brudder". it may not sound funny written down, but i was seriously holding in my laughter. my mom was driving and both of us were trying to be stern with them for talking back, but it was pure comedy.
