what a great weekend

this past weekend we (jesse, me, jj, and ellie) all went to bakersfield to visit our great friends, the street family. we had a fantastic time. we got there friday afternoon, and went out to eat at chilis. we then came back and the kids and dads played baseball for awhile. the kids also played in the sandbox for some time and were filthy dirty. they had dippin' dots for dessert and searched for snail shells for jj. bathtime and bedtime followed. it was great catching up and having quiet time while the kids slept.

next day we got up, ate breakfast, and went to the park. the kids played on the playground, while the dads played catch with the baseball. they both have been out of practice for quite some time. needless to say, they were sore the rest of the weekend. probably still sore. the park was really neat, they had a little kids area and a big kids area. everyone got on the swings and slides. we then went back home for subway. yumm. the kids played, we ate lunch and everyone took naps, and that included the adults. we got up, the kids played some more and logan barbequed hamburgers for dinner. they were awesome. we ate like kings the whole time. after dinner, the thing the boys had been waiting for all day was starting. the ohio st. vs. usc football game was on. usc won!!! yeah!! at half time we tivo'd the rest of the game and went for dessert. logan and rebecca took us to dewars. it was great. they make their own ice cream and candy. it is set up like an old fashioned malt shop. i had a black and white, which is vanilla ice cream topped with hot fudge, then chocolate ice cream topped with marshmallow creme. oh, my mouth is watering just talking about it. the kids had cotton candy, strawberry, and chocolate ice cream. we came back home for baths and bedtime. the dads made a starbucks run and the adults had some quiet time to talk.

we got up the next morning and hung out for a little bit and hit the road at about 10am. it was about 2 hours to victorville from bakersfield. we then visited with pop pop, gaga donna, and guncle for lunch. then hit the road again at around 2pm. we were tired, but we had a great weekend. thank you so much logan, rebecca, jackson, and brooklyn for a wonderful time. cant wait to see you guys soon.

looks like the kids had a wonderful time, the adults enjoyed the company and everyone survived the road trip.
