pumpkin patch

i had wanted to take the kids to the pumpkin patch to take some pictures and buy some small pumpkins. we get our bigger ones at the grocery store where they are cheaper. on tuesday, i picked jj up from school and had packed lunch and went to the live oak canyon pumpkin patch in yucaipa. for those of you who dont know i am now watching my littlest nephew tues. wed. thur. while watching my other nephew mon. thru fri. so this day i happened to have all 4 of them. the baby had just had his shots and was a little cranky. we get there and i unload everything and put the two boys in the stroller with jj and ellie walking. i push them out to the huge field of pumpkins trying to hurry and get some pictures before i feed them and they get food all over the place. found a good spot and did the older kids first while leaving the baby last. i wanted a picture of the whole group. i put the baby down on the ground in between two big pumpkins while telling the rest of them to hurry and sit and smile. well, the baby is petrified of pumpkins. he immediately starts screaming. there is no use trying to call his name and making funny faces to get him to smile. he was done! ellie and diego are 2, so their attention spans are very short. that leaves jj. my son HATES to face the sun. even if there is a little glare, he squints and makes faces. i was trying to hurry and was able to get 2 shots of them. HILARIOUS!!!!! we then meandered our way to the shaded area to eat lunch and then picked out little pumpkins for us to take home. overall, they had a good time. they got pumpkins and were filthy dirty. we came home and the kids took naps. who would have thought 1 hour felt more like 3.

ellie and diego looking at the balloon. jj trying to open his eyes (the sun). baby teddy is not a happy camper.

jj looks better. ellie and diego distracted. baby teddy REALLY not having a good time.
