this past sunday at church, i had a celebrity sighting. most will read this and roll their eyes. jesse, me and the kids drove up to victorville and attended high desert church on sunday. before the service, i had gone into their cafe' to get a drink and i saw her...let me interrupt and give you some background info. for those of you who watch american idol, which probably is most of you, you know this past week there was a singer from phelan, ca. her name was stevie wright. she was the one who the judges said originally sang to old, but then she sang taylor swift and that was too young. when she first auditioned, i saw that she was a local to the high desert. i asked my brother's girlfriend, lauren, if she knew her since they would have been going to the same highschool. lauren did know her, but more from church. she attends hdc youth group, where trevor and lauren both go. she sings in the worship band there, i think...back to my sighting. i was waiting for the drink when i see her come out from behind the counter and yell out a customer's name. i immediately recognized her. you could tell that she was a little embarrassed when people would recognize her. during my wait, worship started and they broadcast it in the cafe'. as she was working, she would sing along to all the songs. it felt really neat to actually see her in person.
one night, i told ellie i was going to give her a bath. i meant later. she loves baths so she immediately undressed and was walking around naked. jesse and i both told her to go upstairs and get some clothes on and that bathtime would be in a little bit. she went upstairs, but did not get dressed. later she comes back downstairs and we AGAIN tell her to get upstairs and get dressed. she realizes that we are upset and serious. as she walks back upstairs the conversation goes like this:
dada and mama: go upstairs now!
ellie: me going! ohhh tayyy! (ok) dont be mad at me!! ohhh tayyy!
-she is yelling while she is saying this. we both crack up laughing.
today, my nephew, baby vincent, was sneezing. ellie couldnt think of the word "sneezing" and called it, "bless-you-ing"
jj is student of the week this week at school. he filled out a cool questionaire about himself. he has been doing very well with his behavior at school. he has gone 11 days in a row with no time out. that is a very big deal for him.
we found out that he and his friend, stone, are on the same tball team this year. he is very excited. yesterday, jj was practicing hitting with jesse outside. he is very good. ellie loves to watch. jesse hides her far behind him so she doesnt get hit. yesterday was jj's best day ever! he always hits the ball from a pitch and did awesome. he hit it across the entire backyard, a couple of times. one time he hit it off of ellie's leg. OUCH! she cried but is a tough girl. she had a nasty bruise on her leg this morning.
jj starts his first tball practice on thursday (tomorrow) and then will start having games every saturday beginning march 28. cant wait. he is on the astros. when he gets his uniform i will post pictures.
