***********UPDATED****************
today on the way home from eating dinner, jesse notices ellie and tells me to look at her. this picture justifies everything this post says about our precious little princess. such a diva...

for those of you who have met/know my daughter know that she is beautiful and charming, but is also a spitfire. she is a little diva. ellie is all girl, in fact she fights with me over what she wears EVERY day. we must pick out the clothes she is going to wear for the next day, before she goes to sleep. she has to approve of what she wears. i learned awhile back that arguing with her over what she wears, causes more anguish to me than her. that is not a battle that is worth fighting over. so to avoid meltdowns, i give her three options and she chooses from those three. that has seemed to work, except lately...
ellie willingly gets dressed in the morning in the pre-laid out clothes, but then she will change her clothes at least 2 or 3 times a day. she moves her stool to her closet and starts sorting through her shirts, skirts, dresses, etc. she then moves to her dresser drawers where she will put on socks, tights, new underwear, etc. that is exhausting...for me. i hate laundry. you would think that i could just take the slightly worn clothing items and put them back because they didnt get dirty. WRONG. she will manage to get something on each item of clothing before i can get my hands on it. UGGGGGHHHHHH!!!
at night, sometimes its worse. normally she can get about 2 or 3 nights wear out of her pajamas before they need to be washed. so she doesnt need to pick out new pajamas, but she insists that she does. i pull out an acceptable option for her depending on the weather. her response..."no, i dont like that one, it isnt beautiful". sigh. what she means by "it isnt beautiful" is that it isnt pink. it has taken me some time to figure that out, but that is what she wants. pink everything. it is her favorite color. i try to not give in to her every desire, so as to not spoil her (probably already done that) but sometimes i just have to choose my battles. so for those family and friends who always ask what to get her for her birthday or other holidays, the answer is anything pink. pink shirts, pink skirts, pink pajamas, anything pink. also please keep me in your prayers, i think she is going to send me to the looney bin one of these days.
