as of tonight, jj only has 2 more days of school left. today in his classroom he had a little end of the year celebration/awards time. parents came and there were refreshments. the kids sang three of their favorite songs that they have learned this year. "say no to drugs", "hats off to america", and "the water cycle". they each got a certificate and a HUGE folder holding all of their writings/journals throughout the year in chronological order. it was awesome to see how much their writing has improved throughout the year. we looked at one of jj's first entries and even HE couldnt read what he wrote. he definitely has learned sooo much being in mrs. kidd's class.
this is her first year teaching and we were all blessed to have had her as our children's teacher. she is amazing. jj behaves better for her than he does for me at home. i asked him why cant you behave like you do for mrs. kidd? he told me, "because you dont have a warning, timeout, call home, trip to the principal's office". i might just have to make me one of those charts for the summer. here are some pictures from today.
