i had an adventurous day on sunday. me, my mom, and my brother's girlfriend's mom all drove to las vegas to be a part of the lets make a deal show. it was soooo exciting.
we left victorville at 5 am to make the 3 hour drive to vegas. the drive there wasn't too bad. we had our starbucks to get us through. when we got there, we were around 30th in line for the show. we were in our costumes. i was a cowgirl, my mom was a clown, and melissa was a little like mrs. roper from three's company. she was very flamboyant, but fun.
in case i have lost you already, let's make a deal is a remake of the old show with monty hall. you know, the one where everyone is in costume and he picks people from the audience to choose either cash or what's behind curtain #1, #2, or #3. remember????
anyway, the new show is hosted by wayne brady. you remember him on whose line is it anyway, right? he is super funny.
we got in line around 9am and when we were all finished it was 4pm. it was a VERY long day. we were interviewed to see how personable we were. the production picked who they were going to choose ahead of time. we had to be extra perky and talkative. our group had no luck in that department. none of us were chosen. i will say that i did think i was going to get picked. i just felt the vibe. you know?? obviously it was the wrong one. all of us had lots of air time though. that was fun. they also gave away a great audience prize. BBC's the natural history collection dvd boxed set. it has planet earth, life of mammals, life of birds, and the blue planet. jj's dream come true!
in addition to that we had two chances to win extra prizes. there were two boxes and whatever color the audience chose we got. majority rules. i voted green both times and was right both times. the audience was right both times too. we won wolverine dvd and the new snow white dvd that comes out next tuesday. i was super excited about snow white. i was going to buy it anyway, so that just saved me some dough.
our throats were scratched from screaming so much. our hands hurt from clapping so much. our cheeks hurt from smiling so much. it was exhausting, but so worth it. i cant wait to see the show when it airs. in fact, the show hasnt even premiered yet. (oct. 5) i am planning on setting it up on my dvr to record the series so i wont miss our show when it does air. maybe somehow i will be able to show you a clip of it when it does. i might have to video record it from my tv and then upload it to here.
i think the worst part of the day was the road trip back. i only have two words for you: SUNDAY TRAFFIC!!!!! i didnt get home to my house in yucaipa until 9:30pm. remember, we left around 4:30pm. :( i think i have finally caught up on my sleep deprivation from that day. i had a blast. i highly recommend going to this if you happen to be in the area. tickets are free! google it and go!
