yesterday, was my mom's birthday. me and ellie took her to disneyland and treated her to a fun filled day. since, we had passes, she got a disneyland gift card for her birthday. we went on some rides that we havent been on in a while and saw tinkerbell. its quite a different experience going without one of your children. you cater to only one child and you never have to split the time riding certain rides that one child doesnt want to ride. it was a nice girls' day out. we got to see all the characters that ellie wanted and it wasnt too crowded either. i really love fall at disneyland. all the orange! its beautiful. after our fun day, we ate dinner at rainforest cafe. we sat by the gorillas. i even got the waitresses to sing to her for her birthday. i think she had a fantastic day, even though she was missing someone special. maybe next time he will behave so to not miss another fun day.
some highlights:
ellie really believing that we were shrinking down to fairy size when we saw rosetta and tinkerbell, and then growing back to our normal size when we were done. to be a child again...
ellie not wanting to get her picture taken with mr. incredible (only mrs. incredible) because he was wearing his "underwears over his pants".
ellie being in amazement that the disneyland workers knew my mom's name (it was on her birthday pin) and her name while they were taking her picture (they would hear me call her by name to smile). she would ask them how they knew her name and they responded with "disneyland is a magical place where magical things happen".
trying to find the disneyland characters in their corresponding countries in small world. this feature was new to us. they did a good job at updating it. oldie but a goodie!
ellie not watching where she was walking and became engulfed in someone's shadow, scaring her half to death; then proceeding to crash right into that someone (random stranger). had a death grip on my hand for the next 2 minutes.
seeing the incredible talent of the pumpkin carvers at the halloween roundup. all of them done freehand. i wish i couldve taken pictures of every single one.
ellie noticing that a cow named maggie at the petting zoo was in costume. she was wearing a pink tutu with a pink bow. she thought it was the funniest thing ever.
seeing the excitement on my mom's face when people would wish her happy birthday and when she got a "21st birthday shout out" on the carousel. happy birthday gaga!!!!
