******UPDATED******
I AM ABOUT TO TAKE JESSE TO URGENT CARE. CANT KEEP ANYTHING DOWN. DEHYDRATION.
-----------------------------------------
lets begin...on tuesday (a week ago) jesse had his tonsils removed. we were told that the recovery for adults is much longer and more painful than it is for kids. this was not good news for my husband. the night before his surgery i was reading on the internet about different foods that i should buy for him after the procedure. i read lots of horror stories and lets just say that i couldnt repeat them to my husband they would have made him cancel his appt. asap!
the next morning his mom took him to his appt. i had the kids and ballet to deal with. he tried desperately to get out of the surgery, but no such luck. he survived. everything went as planned and he was on his way home to recover.
one week into it, he has only come out of the bedroom once. last night. this past week has been filled with loads and loads of medicine. round the clock, mind you. we wake up twice during the night. we have a good rotation down for the frozen peas and crushed ice. he has been eating scrambled eggs, applesauce, mac n cheese, and drinking gatorade and apple juice slushies. by the sounds of it, you would think that things are looking up. wrong.
my poor husband has been battling nausea since his surgery. he has thrown up 5 times. the majority of which has been today. the doctor prescribed him some new meds today. we are hoping that they start to work soon. the problem is that we cant keep his nausea away long enough so he can eat some applesauce so he can take the new meds. its such a vicious cycle. at least his antibiotics are done and his pain isnt too bad. i am hoping we wont make an urgent care visit for dehydration. please pray for my husband and that he feels better.
next item up...my beautiful son has gotten himself into a heap of mess at home. i wont go into too many details, but the bottom line is that he is lying and stealing. he is on restriction AGAIN!!! i just dont know what to do with the boy. he is driving me crazy! i am currently taking any suggestions on the matter.
i think the whole family has cabin fever. i am tired and jesse is way more tired and exhausted than i am. we are all frustrated. i wish we could just fast forward time a little bit.

one little funny side note: i think it was day 4 of recovery and i was getting ready in the morning. jesse was sleeping in bed. ellie walks in and starts talking. i put my finger over my mouth and tell her to be quiet. she turns her head and looks at jesse. she looks back at me and very seriously asks, "is dada dead?" inside i am laughing hysterically, but outside i smile and tell her, "no. dada is not dead. he is sleeping." she looks at him again and walks out of the room. i know what she was thinking though, "he sure looks dead."
i hope your week was better than ours. looking forward to top ten thursday.
