in case you didn't know. my darling husband, jesse has been sick for quite some time. he had a bad cough for all of september, had his tonsils out in october, and has felt AWFUL ever since. we have been attributing his illnesses to his surgery and such, but nothing really got better.
he has been in and out of urgent care clinics, receiving iv fluids, filling prescription medications up the ying yang, and still not feeling better. imagine being nauseous every day for a whole month and vomiting quite often, but the catch is that you're not pregnant! well, this has been jesse's life for the last month.
the doctor thought he had major acid reflux which was causing the burning in his throat. all the medications he was taking made no difference. plus, he didnt just all of sudden develop major acid reflux with no previous symptoms.
he finally saw his primary doctor yesterday morning and he ordered him an upper GI series. he will drink a barium shake and take an MRI to see what's going on in there. after listening to him, the doctor thinks that he either has an incision in his esophagus possibly caused by the tonsil surgery or an ulcer. yes you heard me, an ulcer!
if it's an ulcer (which is what we all think it is), its far too high up to be caused by stomach acid, which means its probably caused by stress and a weakend immune system. i think that it was a culmination of him being sick right before the surgery, the surgery itself and the recovery. it hit his body too hard all at one time.
the doctor also listened to what has been stressful in his life right now, and said that the kind of stress he is having will without a doubt cause an ulcer. the only problem is that the test wont be done until the 30th of nov. to confirm our suspicions. poor guy!
we leave on monday for a week in arizona. we are hoping that the time away will de-stress him and let him relax. some things we have set up are going to the out of africa wildlife park, golfing, riding the polar express train to the north pole, thanksgiving with lots of friends and family, and some sedona sightseeing.
i will only do one more post (top ten thursday) before we leave. i have lots of laundry, lists to make, and packing to do. i will for sure make up for it when we come back though. i am planning on taking lots of video and pictures, so get ready.
oh, and one more thing, i am going to see the pioneer woman on sunday! i can't tell you how excited i am to see her. she is on her cookbook tour and i am hoping the line isn't too long! i will take pictures there too.
i better go and clear out my sd card ;)
