top ten christmas songs

this week has flown by! i cant believe how fast the last week of school before a vacation goes by. today, i am taking the two littles (ellie and diego) to the library. they are going in their jammies for story and craft time. there will be snacks too. they both looooove the library. it's one of the highlights of their week. also, tonight is jj's winter musical. his class is singing two songs, "when christmas comes to town" (from the polar express) and "jingle bell rock". i am using my new camera tonight so hopefully i can get some good shots of him singing.

last saturday, ellie had a tap recital with her ballet/tap class. she did a really good job, but unfortunately, i couldnt work my camera properly and video taped her whole dance OUT OF FOCUS! i did get some shots of her before. i might post them a bit later though.

tomorrow is the last day of school before break! hallelujah!

jj is having a "snowed in" day in his class. they are drinking hot cocoa, reading books and having a gift exchange, all in their jammies. sounds like a ton of fun. when school is over, we are picking up my mom, brother and his girlfriend and going to disneyland. i love that we have passes!

that is the last day before we are blacked out for a while. so we are taking advantage of our time there. we are staying late for fireworks. i hope the kids actually stay awake this time. last time we stayed late, both of them fell asleep and didnt make a peep through the entire show.

on saturday, i am hoping to get caught up on some last minute shopping and maybe take ellie to go see "the princess and the frog". i think i am as excited as she is. :)

sunday, we are going to bakersfield for a couple of days and staying with our friends the streets. we are really looking forward to it. the kids will have a blast playing with their kids too.

it has been a few weeks since i have done a top ten post and today, i am very excited to do mine on my top ten christmas songs.

TOP TEN CHRISTMAS SONGS
(in no particular order)

1. O HOLY NIGHT- this is my ultimate favorite christmas song. if it comes on the radio, i will belt it out as loud as possible. i probably look pretty funny to other drivers. my favorite version is the one sung by martina mcbride. her voice is exquisite!

2. ROCKIN' AROUND THE CHRISTMAS TREE- whenever i hear this song, i think of the movie, "home alone". remember when he sets up mannequins and cardboard cutouts to make it seem like there is a party going on.

3. ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS- sung by mariah carey. this one just gets me grooving.

4. FELIZ NAVIDAD- this one makes me laugh. the kids just learned this song. i actually filmed them yesterday attempting to sing all the words to it. hilarious. i think jj needs some work on his spanish. i will try and post that one too. it will certainly brighten up your day.

5. HAVE YOURSELF A MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS- this one is so nostalgic. i just imagine walking along the streets strung with lights, holding shopping bags, all while its snowing outside. it sounds so cozy and warm. i love it!

6. GOD REST YE MERRY GENTLEMEN-i love this one too! especially when it is sung by a chorus..choir ( i dont know the proper word to use).

7. CAROLE OF THE BELLS- this is my second favorite christmas song. if you cant remember what it sounds like, think "home alone" where he is running from church going to set up all his traps for the burglars. the words are sung so fast that i never know the words.

8. ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS MY TWO FRONT TEETH- sung by alvin and the chipmunks. such a classic, silly song.

9. CHRISTMAS TIME IS HERE- from a charlie brown christmas. in fact, i love all the songs from this show. they take me back to being a little kid. it is a tradition that we watch it at least once before christmas.

10. HERE WE COME A CAROLING-...among the leaves so green...whenever i hear this song, the first thing i think of is the movie "little women". you know the one with winona ryder, susan sarandon, claire danes, kirsten dunst, and christian bale. i always remember them singing it at the beginning of the movie.

i could actually list a whole lot more, but we are only doing 10. i love christmas. i love christmas songs and christmas movies and all things christmas! i hope you enjoyed my list.

have a great day and a fantastic weekend.
