before i start, i have to share this funny little tidbit. ellie just came into our bedroom a little bit ago. we just put her down 30 minutes ago. she says, "hi mama...can i tell you sumping?" yes ellie, what is it. "ummmm....ummmm...ummmm...i coughed a little...i think i am gonna be sick forever".
this child hates that her brother is sick and she isnt. she pleads with me that she really is sick and that she needs medicine too (insert cough). she doesnt gag or make faces at the taste of cough syrup, she just licks her lips with a satisfied expression. what a weirdo. of course, though, now that jj is starting to get a little better, she is actually sick. last night, after we put her to bed, she moved the humidifier (filled with water, mind you) from our room to her room and plugged it in. today jesse asked her why she did that. "betuz dada, i am sick, and i needed it". she is already a drama queen.
ok, now onto the real business.
my sis in law had her second bridal shower last saturday. i know, i know, i am a week late. it was such a nice shower. no children. it was hosted by her fiance's family. it was nice to meet a lot of his family and friends. they were very sweet and gracious. again, veronica scored in the gift dept. she got so much stuff off her registry. as the shower was winding down, i told her to not forget to pack her ribbon bouquets for the wedding. she looked at me funny. she had no clue what they were for. i informed her that you use them as your pretend bouquet at the rehearsal. she had no idea. i think she just thought it was something cute and fun to do as a remembrance of your showers. i dont know.
that day, i tried a new hairstyle. it actually turned out fairly good. my hair is so thin that it never holds a curl, never stays put, and never does what i want it to do. that day, though, it did. i was pleasantly surprised. i wore my new earrings too. i was waiting for an occasion to wear them to.
can i tell you how excited we are!!! we leave for cabo in 12 days! i just hope that the airline doesnt lose any of our luggage, or we are all screwed. i think i might carry on our garment bag with our wedding attire in it. so if it does happen, we at least have the proper attire for the wedding. it is a straight through flight, so hopefully there are no mistakes.
today was so nice outside. high 70's. i actually got a tan!
tomorrow we are going to jesse's cousin's quincenera. during the day though, i am working hard core on the following day's birthday cakes. my nephew's are having their joint birthday parties on sunday. i am making their cakes. one wanted a monster truck, the other requested backyardigans. so i definitely have my work cut out for me. i do have a plan though. so if everything goes according to plan, i should be fine. key word is should. i will post pictures of that soon.
