iris festival

today, jj had a baseball game and then we went to the yucaipa iris festival. jj played really well. he had 3 doubles and did ok on defense. for after the game snack, the boys got a hot dog and an icee from the snack bar. they were super excited about that!!

afterward, we went to the iris festival. actually, we only made it as far as the kid's zone where all the rides and games were. jj and ellie both got their faces painted and jj climbed the rock wall. at first he was completely confident, but about 2/3 the way up, he began to shake and panic. i could feel his fear. the entire wall was probably 50 ft high. he got stuck and the man operating the wall had to talk him through getting to the top. once he reached the button, he just let go and his fear went away. you would think that repelling down would be the scary part, but no. he just wanted to get back down to the ground as quickly as possible.

jj won himself and ellie some bubbles and candy at the balloon dart game and then i ran out of $. jj responds with, "what?! why cant you just go get some more?" sure...after i just spent $20 on useless games, let me just go get my money tree and we'll be all set.

even though, they didnt get to do everything they wanted, they still had a good time. they are playing with the bubbles outside now and actually being nice to each other. shocking!

this picture makes me laugh every single time i see it. jj is playing first base, waiting for the batter to hit. see the kid in the outfield...HILARIOUS!!!
