we are down to 7 school days left before summer officially begins!!! wooohooo!!
jj has a field trip today to riley's apple farm in oak glen. this is his first field trip and he is VERY excited. i just hope he can control himself today and behave. he has one last project due before school is over. he has an animal research project to do. his animal is the gila monster. of course, my son, the animal lover, doesnt pick something normal like a lion or giraffe. he picks a gila monster. his written report is almost done and his visual representation is all done. we used clay and molded the lizard and let it harden and then he painted it. it looks pretty darn awesome if i do say so myself. the only problem is that the fingers and legs keep breaking off. i have the hot glue gun handy and use it almost daily. june 2nd cant get here fast enough. chances are though, as soon as he turns it in, the whole thing will fall to pieces.
ellie has her last day of biddy ball tball today. they finished their 9 week class and are having a pizza party to celebrate. she couldnt be more excited!!! her first team pizza party. she always tags along to big brother's and never gets her own. i think that this next year, she will change a lot. she isnt into her dance class as much and is more interested in sports lately. this summer we will sign her up for swimming lessons and see how that goes. i am guessing not so well. she isnt a huge water person, but she will learn anyway.
yesterday, jj had his spring sing musical. his class had two international songs to sing. one in an african language and the other in spanish. of course, he didnt really know all the words, but it was still the cutest thing to watch. i was forewarned that my son really outdid himself at the practice session the day before. i was prepared. jj is a complete class clown and wont turn down an opportunity to show off or make people laugh. especially a whole school's worth of parents. he literally made everyone i know laugh, even his teacher and classmates. i love that about him, but that same quality gets him in trouble A LOT!!!!!!! i will never forget the words of his kindergarten teacher on his report card, "JJ's desire to entertain others, often overpowers his desire to learn". that describes my boy to a tee, but we still love him for it!!! he always makes us smile. :)

oh dear- he reminds me of Elijah! Now, hopefully that is a GOOD thing! E would be doing the same thing up there! Glad you are back- missed your blogging!
Exciting time of year! Great job on the gila monster. I think it is too funny (not to compare your daughter to a dog) but your ellie and my ellie both do not like water! We took ellie to the beach for the first time a couple weekends ago and she would not get into the water. It reminded me of some pics you have posted before of ellie grasping on to you with all her might when in the pool :)
